RECREATE INFRASTRUCTURE AND CLIENT STATE

Screens

The traditional way of solving network problems is to try to recreate them. This works in wired networks, but the constantly changing radio environment of a wireless network makes it much more difficult in wireless networks. Without exact knowledge of the network conditions an hour or a week ago, trying to recreate a problem can be impossible.

Meru simplifies the process by storing a complete history of all critical network information over days. Rather than try to save every packet sent over the network, E(z)RF Network Manager uses its intelligence to identify the most important events and record them so that it can offer a complete history of every client.

  • Zoom in on Controller Timeline. E(z)RF Network Manager's user interface offers interactive graphs that show each controller's history, charting metrics such as throughput, client activity and signal loss over time. With a single mouse click on any one of the charts, a network administrator can zoom in on any part of a timeline for a more detailed view.
  • Rewind and Freeze Frame. A built-in relational database makes it easy to recreate the state of any network component, isolating the factors that lead to a problem or user connectivity issue.
  • Context-aware Search Engine. The powerful search engine within E(z)RF Network Manager lets staff find events that match any combination of criteria. Searchable categories include almost every attribute of a client, access point or controller, as well as issue such as alarms or attempted security breaches. Event filters make it easy to sort and prioritize issues.
